Crispin Hill was an idyllic setting for Jessie and Liz to say their vows. These two share the most genuine love and are full of admiration for one another. All day long, we could tell that they cherished being together above anything else. And, shooting their portraits was a blast! We loved that they weren’t afraid to have fun and get a little silly. What’s more, they brought their adorable dog Gretchen along for some close-ups of her own.
Spring Wedding at Crispin Hill
The Crispin Farm House hosted the spouses-to-be and their wedding party on the night before their special day. Between their seven bridesmaids, two bridesmen, and two flower girls, it was a full house getting ready the next morning and we were living for it! Laughter and excitement filled the air as Jessie and Liz read private letters from one another and got ready for their first look. Liz is the best gift-giver ever, and gave Jessie some vintage shot glasses and a bottle of Patron to share with her wedding party. Everyone gathered around the bathtub for the first drink of the day, which was followed by plenty of tequila shots later in the evening.
Outside, the couple had their first look at one another in their gowns, with all of the happy tears and laughter you could imagine. We explored the grounds and the farmhouse for their bridal portraits before grabbing a few shots of the wedding party. Then, it was off to the lakeside for their ceremony. Jessie and Liz each walked down the aisle with their fathers and met in front of the archway to stand side by side. Their mothers stood with them, and it was one of the sweetest moments of the day. As their loved ones looked on, they shared handwritten vows with one another and said I do. At last, it was time to dance the night away!
A Classic Color Scheme
Jessie and Liz wanted their day to feel timeless and elegant, and their vendors did such a wonderful job making that happen. Their color palette of blue and white carried throughout the day, from their bouquets full of cream roses by Oops-a-Daisy to their wedding party’s outfits in varying shades of blue. We also loved that Jessie wore a pair of suede heels in robin’s egg blue, while Liz wore a similar pair in white.
The classic vibe continued at their tented reception with the most gorgeous tablescapes. Navy gauze runners were the centerpiece of each table, topped with greenery and cream roses from Oops-a-Daisy and white pillar candles. In addition, the personalized details that the couple included in the celebration were so much fun! At the bar, guests could order a “Mrs. and Mrs. Mojito” with cucumber and basil. And, guests with furry friends could take home a treat bag of handmade dog biscuits, courtesy of “Gretchen’s Biscuit Bar.”
What a sweet day celebrating with these two beautiful newlyweds at Crispin Hill. Capturing love stories with authenticity is what we’re all about, and we’d love for yours to be next! If you can picture yourself and your partner as a WIA couple, we want to hear from you.
