A Second Wedding planned overlooking Keuka Lake in the FLX at Crispin Hill in Penn Yan, NY
Webster’s Dictionary defines wedding as: The fusing of two metals with a hot torch.” – Michael Scott
Just a few months ago, we met Erin and Curtis when their destination wedding in South Carolina had to be moved closer to home due to the unforeseen circumstances of Covid. Knowing they didn’t want to wait any longer, they chose Keuka Lake. Keuka Lake was such a meaningful place since they both grew up visiting and now have family cottages.
They met with Chelsey and Heather from Crispin Hill, and knew right away that it was the perfect venue. They fully relied on and trusted Chelsey and Heather for new vendor recommendations since they were starting everything over.
Fall Wedding Overlooking Keuka Lake
Their vision of their wedding day was all about their guests having an incredible time. They wanted lots of good food, and lots of dancing. For the decor, they wanted it to be neutral and classic, filled with lots of candlelight. They both loved the lake views at Crispin Hill, so they wanted to make sure that was the focal point of the night.
As a vendor in the wedding industry, working with people you’ve worked with and trust helps the day run smoother. Not just for us as the photographers and videographers, but for the couple! Leading up to their wedding day, they fully trusted our dream team of vendors and for us to help take off that stress of re-planning everything.
The day FINALLY came on a gorgeous fall day. We were all so excited to see and be a part of these two getting married. From the minute we met them, we loved their dry humor, sarcasm, and how they made each other smile so effortlessly. (I mean, check out all the pictures of them laughing!). It’s no wonder their theme was all things green and some of ‘the Office’ thrown in there.
Their combined love of food, helping others, and family was showcased throughout the planning process and on their wedding day. They had cupcakes from a local bakery, and an ice cream bar from Seneca Farms. And to end the night, they had Taco Bell for their late-night snacks! It was such a fun touch, and guests always love late-night snacks.
A Family-Focused Wedding at Crispin Hill
Seeing these two families come together was incredible. Both families drove from hours away to celebrate and help make sure it was perfect. They cheered them on all day and were all crying before Erin even walked down the aisle.
The entire day was a big family reunion full of LOTS of laughter, newfound jokes and sayings, and lots of joy for Erin + Curtis, who are meant to be together.
The day showed how incredible these two souls are. They welcomed new family members, and each person was so kind to every vendor there; we felt like we were a part of this new family that was combining.
It may have just been a few months that we’ve known you, but it feels like so much longer than that. Thank you for opening up and sharing parts of yourself and your love story with us. It was truly our honor to capture your wedding day!
