Destination Wedding at Lakefront Winery in the Fingerlakes, NY
It was a gorgeous warm day on Seneca Lake at Glenora Wine Cellars where Arleen and Jay’s family were traveling for their wedding on the lake. Jay originally from Jamestown, and Arleen from Arizona, they met on eHarmony, and she just really wanted a destination wedding.
After looking over different locations they settled on the Fingerlakes for its beauty and being so close to where Jay grew up. After checking out different venues to find a location where they could have a small intimate wedding, they settled on Glenora. Not only was it a perfect location, but they specialize in smaller wedding parties and Arleen LOVED the willow trees there.
I was just so excited to capture all the details that Arleen had crafted for her tropical themed wedding. From the vibrant colors in her bouquet and the flowers that were on the arch, each detailed perfectly matched her theme. She couldn’t decide between shoes or dresses so Arleen chose to have a dress for the ceremony and a dress for the reception. And I mean come on look how gorgeous that ring is! I just couldn’t stop taking pictures of it.
Jay anxiously awaited for his bride to be in the lobby as she was getting her hair and makeup done. They decided to do a first look, so they could see each other in private before the ceremony and to get some pictures done. Arleen was so nervous about seeing Jay, and so excited to have family there to help her get ready.
Jay was waiting among the willow trees, as Arleen head down to see her soon to be husband for the first time all day. She rounded the corner around the vines and the nerves started kicking in, after a deep breath she walked towards Jay, and when she was ready she called out his name and he turned around to see her and his face lit up with joy. He immediately embraced her, tears were shed and after a few minutes he gave her a letter he wrote to her.
After a few minutes, we set off to do some portraits of them before the ceremony, then soon after the bridal party joined in.
Guests were beginning to come, and Arleen and Jay had to hide before the ceremony began. As guests arrived there were bells and ribbon on a stick that they were to wave when the bell ceremony was happening. They chose that instead of a candle or sand ceremony they would do the bell ceremony. They ring the bell together after they say their vows, and the bell is to symbolize unity and after their day if they are to feel like they need to get in a disagreement they are to remember ringing the bell in unity, and ring the bell as a reminder of the love they share, and the vows they said on their wedding day.
It was time for family portraits and some just married pictures.
The new husband and wife were ready to dance the night away and party with all of their family and friends that came out for them on this special day. On the terrace of Glenora they shared their first dance as husband and wife.
After a delicious dinner, and a speech from the best man and matron of honor, it was finally time to cut the cake. It was so beautiful though!
As the sun began to set we snuck them out for a few more pictures before we all danced the night away (yes even Mark and I tore up the rug too!)
Arleen & Jay, thank you so much for choosing us to be there to capture these memories for you. We had such a fun day with you and your closest family and friends. We hope you had the best time on your honeymoon in Maine. Cheers to Mr & Mrs. Anderson.
