It’s no secret that we’re pretty passionate about wedding videography over here at Wonder in Adagio. I mean, we’re a photo/video team for a reason! In a recent blog post, we outlined what exactly goes into the cost of wedding videography. After all, we know it’s not inexpensive. So today, we wanted to make it a little more personal. Aside from everything we talked about in that post, why should you invest in wedding videography?
Do I Really Need a Videographer If I Already Have a Photographer?
Most couples have “hiring a wedding photographer” at the top of their wedding planning checklist. And while we know how important photography is, videography adds a completely additional aspect to your day. That aspect is one that photography just can’t replicate. Video provides so much in compliment to what your photographer can and many things that photography just can’t. A lot of couples wonder why they should invest in video if they already have the photographer of their dreams. This comes down to many factors but simply put – video can capture you and yours in motion and hold your vows and moments forever as they were. You truly get a portal into what was and the foundation of your love to have for generations to come.
You Get to Not Just See, but Hear and Feel Everything from Your Day
Getting to hear the words your partner said to you in real-time, soundtracked to music uniquely selected for your love is an indescribable experience. Photography will be able to capture the moments of your partner seeing you or touching you but with video, you can really see how they touch you, how they look at you, what their words meant, and how deeply they love you. Photography provides stills from your wedding day, videography provides emotional scenes that are most similar to the ones already in your memory.
One example of this is your wedding vows. Of course photos of you dedicating yourself to the love of your life are irreplaceable. And photography can capture some really key, emotional moments & reactions during the reading of your vows. But with videography, you get to hear your love get choked up, the words of dedication they’re speaking, and the emotion in their voice. Trust us, there’s nothing more special than being able to relive those moments with your new spouse over and over again for years to come.
Our Wedding Videos Aren’t Meant for Social Media
Our videos are not made for social media – they’re made for you to have forever. Something you can share with your potential future kids or friends or family. But most importantly, for you to forever remember your love, bond, and what those moments felt like with your partner. To see all the people you love and that supported and surrounded you in your love. We don’t film and edit with the intent of it going “viral” on Instagram or getting attention from random people on the internet. If we did, we would be defeating the entire purpose of our careers. We create this art form with the intent of it unbelievably, uniquely being special for you and your loved ones.
Wedding Videography Allows You to See Moments You Missed
Speaking from personal experience, your wedding goes by SO fast. Having someone there to see what’s happening, and capture it artistically is invaluable. It allows you to forever relive what you felt and saw. If you’re getting ready apart from your partner, videography will give you an insight into the emotions they felt leading up to your ceremony or first look. When we’re not filming you, we’re filming other parts of your day. Parts that we know you wouldn’t want to miss in the long run!
Whether it’s your daughter tearing up during your ceremony or your grandpa telling stories of you as a child, there are so many moving parts that you’re just unaware of on your wedding day. And that’s how it’s supposed to be! You’re meant to enjoy the day being present, not worried or concerned about what others are doing. But the thing that most people don’t realize is that your guests are (almost) just as full of emotion as you are. This makes for so many beautiful, emotional moments that you’re going to want to see later on.
