Classic Summer Wedding at Castel Grisch

Both Kelly and Brandon are traveling nurses. They have lived in quite a few cities the last few years and wanted their wedding to be all about connecting with their loved ones. One of Brandon’s dreams is to have a winery, so having it at a winery was a must when they were picking a wedding venue! They chose Castel Grisch, which was perfect! Overlooking Seneca Lake, this venue is one of our favorites.

One of our favorite moments of the day was as Kelly got ready. Her grandmother gave her a pearl necklace to wear, and it was the sweetest moment! These pearls were given to her grandmother by her grandfather when he came home from the war in the 1950s. After, her mom gave her a second pearl necklace to wear to complete her set.

Brandon wore a classic black suit with a gold tie. But to add a little bit of fun, he wore socks with Kelly’s face on them! It was such a cute touch. Kelly was an absolute goddess! She wore a stunning tulle gown, that had cascading lace detail. Her enchanting veil was the perfect addition. It was cathedral length, with lace all around the edge. Just wait until you see how amazing it is in her portraits!

Classic Wedding Details

For the wedding, Kelly envisioned an all-white color palette, with touches of gold throughout. She wanted it to feel romantic, intimate, but a touch rustic. So for her flowers, she chose all-white rose bouquets wrapped in white satin. Her bridal party wore champagne gowns, and her bridesman wore a champagne suit.

After their first look, the two gave each other gifts. Brandon had a print made showing the three states that connected their relationship. Pennsylvania, where they met. Virginia, where they now live. And Watkins Glen, where they got married! It was the perfect gift.

Before the ceremony, we took time to get some portraits of the two around the grounds. This is one of our favorite parts of a wedding day! We get to enjoy our incredible couples as they cuddle up before the guests arrive. A wedding day flies by! So this is such a meaningful time to have together.

Wedding Reception at Castel Grisch

For their wedding ceremony, the couple chose the picturesque lawn overlooking the vineyard. The incredible circle arch was a showstopper! It was covered in greenery, with all white flowers. The highlight was Kelly’s grandmother, who was the flower girl! She had so much fun spreading flowers, and everyone loved it! While it started to sprinkle during the ceremony, the couple only had eyes for one another. Their heartfelt handwritten vows were so personal and showed their commitment to one another.

Their romantic reception took place on the patio overlooking the winery and lake. This is one of the best parts of getting married in the Finger Lakes: the endless views! At Castel Grisch, you get to see the rolling hills, the lake, and rows of grapevines. The roof of the patio was covered in lights for a beautiful evening glow. During their first dance and parents’ dances, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room! Everyone was just so happy to be there to celebrate Kelly and Brandon.
